Overview

 

We’re looking for a dynamic and experienced Director of Compliance to lead and elevate our multi-state compliance operations across Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Washington, D.C. This is a high-impact role for a strategic thinker who thrives in a mission-driven environment and is passionate about upholding the highest standards in behavioral healthcare.

 

In this hybrid role, you’ll serve as a key advisor to senior leadership and the Board, overseeing compliance across all levels of care — including OTP, IOP, and OP services. You'll lead audits, staff training, policy development, and regulatory reporting, while actively shaping a culture rooted in ethics, accountability, and continuous improvement. You’ll also act as the go-to resource for resolving complex compliance matters and ensuring our teams are aligned with all federal, state, and local regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Weekly travel to our clinical sites providing support and guidance to clinic leadership while collaborating and ensuring alignment of operations with applicable laws and ethical standards
  • Responsible for maintaining and renewing licensure for all current Kolmac and CCG facilities and for the application for licensure for new facilities
  • Ensures all licensed employees maintain current licensure, following up with them as licenses are due to expire to ensure renewal is completed. Tracks the completion of additional state licensure for clinicians and medical staff
  • Develops, initiates, maintains, and revises policies and procedures for the general operation of the Compliance Program and its related activities to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct. Manages day-to-day operation to assure activities in all company programs and facilities in accordance with state and CARF regulations
  • Develops and periodically reviews and updates Kolmac’s Standards of Conduct to ensure continuing currency and relevance in providing guidance to management and employees
  • Collaborates with other departments to direct compliance issues to appropriate existing channels for investigation and resolution. Consults with legal authorities as needed to resolve difficult legal compliance issues
  • Responds to alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and the Kolmac Standards of Conduct by evaluating or recommending the initiation of investigative procedures. Develops and oversees a system for uniform handling of such violations
  • Acts as an independent review and evaluation body to ensure that compliance Issues/concerns within the organization are being appropriately evaluated, investigated and resolved
  • Monitors, and as necessary, coordinates compliance activities of other departments to remain abreast of the status of all compliance activities and to identify trends
  • Identifies potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; develops/implements corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues and provides general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future
  • Provides reports on a regular basis, and as directed or requested, to keep senior management informed of the operation and progress of compliance efforts
  • Ensures proper reporting of violations or potential violations to duly authorized enforcement agencies as appropriate and/or required
  • Institutes and maintains an effective compliance communication program for the organization
  • Works with the Human Resources Department and others as appropriate to develop an effective compliance training program, including appropriate introductory training for new employees as well as ongoing training for all employees and managers
  • Monitors the performance of the Compliance Program and relates activities on a continuing basis, taking appropriate steps to improve its effectiveness
  • Provides training and inspections for Opioid Treatment Programs and Outpatient Services for quality assurance

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Preferred Clinical background: CADC, CSAC, CAADC, MSW, LGPC

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in an Opioid Treatment Program, as a clinician, Clinical Supervisor, or Program Manager
  • Familiarity with operational, financial, quality assurance, and human resource procedures and regulations is a must
  • Previous experience with DEA Compliance and Inspections, CARF Compliance and Inspections preferred
  • 50% travel to our various Kolmac and CCG clinic locations in Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Washington, D.C

The base salary range for this position starts at $100,000; however, final compensation will be based on factors such as geographic location, relevant experience, education, licensure, and overall qualifications.
